Take your best guess at the color!
Pitacor is a party game you play with friends right in the browser. One person sees a color and gives a single-word clue; everyone else tries to find that color on a board of 480 shades.
It sounds easy until someone says “sea” and half the room goes for a bright pool blue while the other half picks navy. That's the fun of it: everybody sees colors, and words, a little differently. The name is Brazilian slang: a pitaco is a hunch, a guess thrown in, and cor means color.
What a match looks like
- 3 to 10 players, each on their own device: PC, laptop, phone or tablet.
- Nothing to install, no sign-up: pick a nickname, create a room and send the link or code to your friends.
- Each round, one player is the clue giver. They pick one of four colors and describe it with one word (no color names!).
- Everyone else marks the cell they think is right. Then comes an optional second clue of up to two words, and a second guess.
- The closer to the color, the more points. First to reach the goal wins.
The full rules are in Rules and the walkthrough in How to play.
Made for playing together
- Online or in the same room: play over a video call or all on the couch.
- TV mode: open Pitacor on a TV or projector, scan the QR code with your phone, and the board is big enough for everyone to see.
- Public and private rooms: play only with people who have the link, or join an open room.
- Ultra Hard: for the brave, a board where every cell shows only the color's hex code.
- Chat with reactions, customizable avatars and settings for timers, points and how the match ends.
- In English and Portuguese.
Who makes it
Pitacor is an independent project, made in Brazil by a game developer, with Unity and C#. All the art, the mascot Pita and the board palette were created for the game. The 480 colors were generated by a script in the OKLCH color space, so that neighbours look alike without being equal, with color-blind players in mind too.
The game is free. To pay for the server, the site may show banner ads beside the game area (never over the board or interrupting a match) and accepts donations from anyone who wants to help. There are no loot boxes or anything paid with a random outcome.
