How to play

You'll get it in two minutes; two rounds in, you'll be arguing whether “avocado” is more green or more yellow.

Set up a room

  1. Open Pitacor in your PC or phone browser. Choose a nickname and build your avatar.
  2. Create a room. You become the host and get a short code made of letters.
  3. Invite your friends by sending the room link (or the code, to type under “Join”). 3 to 10 players.
  4. Tweak the rules if you like: score goal, clue and guess timers, visible or hidden guesses, normal or Ultra Hard board. The defaults work well.
  5. When everyone is in the lobby, the host presses Start.

A round

  1. The clue giver (everyone takes a turn) gets four colors and picks one. Only they can see it.
  2. They write the first clue: a single word. Objects, food, places, feelings… anything but color names or coordinates.
  3. Everyone else marks a cell on the board. Each cell fits one marker: whoever confirms first gets it.
  4. The clue giver decides: give a second clue of up to two words, or pass. Passing on purpose doubles their points for the round, but leaves everyone with a single guess.
  5. If there was a second clue, each player places a second marker. The better of the two counts.
  6. At the reveal the color shows up, the scoring rings are drawn around it and the points fly to the scoreboard.

The match ends when someone reaches the goal (25 points by default). Scoring details are in Rules.

Controls

WhereHow to mark
PCHover to see the coordinate, click to choose and confirm. Enter confirms and the arrow keys move the selection.
PhoneTap a cell to see a big preview in the magnifier, then press confirm. Pinch to zoom. Held upright, the board turns sideways so it fits whole.
TVThe TV only shows the game; everybody plays on their phone.

TV mode

Everyone in the same room? Open Pitacor on a TV, a projector or a PC hooked up to the TV and choose TV mode. The screen shows a QR code and the room code: each player scans it with their phone and joins. The TV shows the big board, the scoreboard and the reveals, plays the music and sound effects, and doesn't take a player seat. You can also add a TV to an existing room with the “TV” button in the lobby.
