Privacy policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
In short: Pitacor has no sign-up, doesn't ask for your name, email or phone number, and doesn't sell data. We keep the minimum needed to run the game and fight abuse.
Who is responsible
Pitacor is an independent project based in Brazil. The data controller, under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018), is Alexandre Guimarães Pádua, who also acts as data protection officer. For any privacy matter, write to stellargamesofc@gmail.com.
What we use and why
| Data | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Nickname and avatar you choose | Showing you to the other players in the room. Feel free to use a nickname that doesn't identify you. | Only in the server's memory while the room exists. A room disappears about 15 minutes after everyone leaves. |
| Clues, guesses, chat messages and reactions | Running the match: the server relays them to the players in the room. | Only while the room exists. We don't record chat or clues. |
| Technical logs: IP address, room code, internal player ID, join and leave times | Security, per-IP connection limits, abuse prevention and bug fixing. | Up to 6 months, then deleted. |
| Reports: who reported, who was reported, the reason and any text written | Moderating public rooms and, when needed, blocking abusers (including by IP). | Up to 6 months, or longer while an investigation is ongoing. |
The legal bases are performing the service you asked for (playing) and our legitimate interest in keeping the game safe (LGPD art. 7, V and IX; GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). We don't profile players or make automated decisions about you.
What stays in your browser
The game stores a few things on your own device, in the browser's local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB). Pitacor doesn't use cookies today.
- Your nickname and avatar, so you don't have to build them again.
- Language and sound and music volumes.
- A session token, a random code that lets you get your seat back if the page reloads or the connection drops. It is kept per room, in that browser tab only.
To erase it all, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Ads
To pay for the server, the site may show banner ads outside the game area, served by Google AdSense. For visitors in Brazil, we set non-personalized ads only: they don't use your browsing history to choose what to show. Google may still use cookies or identifiers to cap how often an ad repeats, measure results in aggregate and fight fraud. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, ads only appear after you answer the consent notice.
Learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites. The game works normally with an ad blocker.
Who else handles the data
- Other players in the room see your nickname, avatar, clues, guesses and messages.
- Hosting and content delivery providers, which process your IP address to deliver the pages and the game. Some are outside Brazil; such transfers follow LGPD art. 33.
- Google, if ads are turned on (see above).
- Donation platforms, if you choose to support the game. Payment happens on their site, under their policies.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it, under a court order.
We don't sell or rent anyone's data.
Children and teens
Pitacor doesn't ask for age or contact details and has nothing paid with a random outcome. Public rooms have chat with a profanity filter, mute, kick and report, but no filter is perfect: for children, we recommend private rooms with friends and family and an adult nearby. Parents and guardians can ask us to delete any record using the contact below.
Your rights
Under the LGPD (art. 18), and the GDPR where it applies, you can ask us to confirm whether we process your data, and for access, correction, anonymization or deletion, information about who we share it with, and objection. Since there are no accounts, tell us the room code, nickname and approximate date and time so we can find the records. Write to stellargamesofc@gmail.com; we answer within 15 days. You can also contact Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) or your local authority.
Changes
When Pitacor gets new features, like optional login, this policy will be updated first. The date at the top shows the latest version.
